Alex’s primary area of expertise is in Corporate Social Responsibility in the seafood industry. He worked at the UK Sea Fish Industry Authority (Seafish) between 2013 – 2018 developing and managing the Risk Assessment for Sourcing Seafood (RASS) programme. At Seafish Alex also gained experience working on the development of social risk assessment systems, and data limited fisheries.

Since joining RS Standards in 2018 Alex has led their fisheries work programme; involving undertaking seafood risk assessments for clients, standard benchmarking and assurance, development of auditor training materials, and written insight reviews on key industry issues including fish welfare risk mitigation, seafood traceability initiatives, and fishing vessel standards.

He has a strong research interest in the role of market and policy drivers on building sustainable and resilient seafood supply-chains and is a visiting researcher at Hull University.
